Long-time friend and bug keeper Alan Jeon never disappoints. After sending pictures of some odd looking Narceus he had found while rooting around Alabama, I knew this was a variety I needed to work with. “Wetumpka” is unique among current americanus localities in that in addition to the typical millipede sexual dimorphism (wherein females are larger), adults of this species are also different colors! Males show off striking yellow stripes with black bands, while females sport earthier shades of chestnut brown and dark cocoa. Docile and active, this locality is equally great for handling and display.
