Back at last and with more husbandry wisdom, Roach Crossing presents the commando isopod! These aptly-named isopods are large, army-camouflaged, and tanky-bodied, perfectly adapted for to their habitat on the beach above the tide line. In spots with just the right conditions, hundreds can be found in a matrix of tunnels beneath the sand! In captivity, the importance of saltwater to their well-being is debated, but Roach Crossing has had excellent results with a three inch sand layer inundated with Instant Ocean saltwater above a rocky drainage layer. Furnishings must be sturdy because the activity and strength of these isopods will dislodge anything not firmly in place!
