This large, insanely easy to culture springtail is an excellent staple feeder for tiny amphibians, true spider hatchlings, and small aquarium fish. They culture best on 5 cm of charcoal with 2 cm of water below it and bloom readily when fed yeast. For convenient feeding, the container can be tipped to the side and the springtails (which float on the surface of the water) collected with a spoon or cup. Cultures will produce heavily and do best when fed out of frequently.
