The powdery blue woodlouse is a fast-reproducing and fast-moving isopod that does best when kept warm. They are excellent feeders due to their soft exoskeleton (perhaps the softest among available isopods!) and active nature. Though they are normally purplish-brown, some individuals (perhaps those close to molting) gain a stunning lustrous blue sheen that is very difficult to describe. This trait only adds to their visual appeal, as their white-banded antennae are also quite eye-catching.
