Isolated and refined by Roach Crossing.

Sometimes persistence pays off. After years of refining Porcellio laevis “Caramel”, some very odd individuals popped up in a cull bin. Only males were present at first and despite my best efforts I couldn’t get the trait to isolate. After a generation or two of back crossing to “Caramel”, I was finally able to isolate the phenotype. “How Now” are brown cows directly derived from my “Caramel” line. They will not cross with “Dairy Cow” as the two strains are reproductively incompatible; thus, a mixed herd of distinctly colorful cows is now possible!
