“Del Rio” was collected by superstar roach collector Alan Jeon in the front yard of another enthusiast. Subsisting on oak leaf litter, this is further confirmation of this species’ aptitude for living without a host burrow or nest. Though not all individuals sport the color, most are quite dark and adult males can have black wings, looking suspiciously similar to Polyphaga aegyptiaca.
