Detailed Species Stats -Click-
Some individuals of this handsome hisser species have very pronounced bumps all over their body while others are mostly smooth. The nymphs undergo a color change as they grow, with many later instars sporting maroon or purplish tinges. Some adults, particularly males, retain some of this coloration into adulthood. Nymphs appear to prefer hiding under bark piles while adults prefer larger, vertical hides. Previously, my colony experienced many die-offs; after years I have determined these to be due to improper husbandry. This species does best with hot, dry conditions; if the colony experiences a temperature dip for too long a die-off is inevitable.
