Blaberus fusca is a roach surrounded by controversy and mystery. Presently, there are many sources with hybrids of this “species”, and even more with “pure stock” of highly questionable validity. Despite the uncertainty around the identity of this cockroach, this strain possesses very consistent markings and genitalia, suggesting that it is pure. Aside from its rarity and size, this species has remarkably glossy wings with appealing markings. Very few other Blaberus sp. combine these amicable attributes in the way Blaberus fusca does. Hardy and prolific, this unique roach makes an excellent feeder, reproducing at rates comparable to considerable smaller species but reaching a much larger size.
