Detailed Species Stats -Click-
The Egyptian sand roach requires much patience: nymphs can take several years to reach adulthood. The difference between the adults is staggering, considering males have long, flimsy, yet textured wings, while females are squat, wingless, and reclusive. Females continue producing fertile oothecae throughout their long two-year-plus lifespan and can probably retain sperm from previous matings for many months. When flipped onto their back, adult females and large nymphs will either play dead or promptly try to upright themselves using their strangely lanky back legs.
