This is the undisputed king of cockroaches. At over eighty millimeters long, it dwarfs many other species; by mass, it has no rival. Long-lived (over seven years), slow-moving, and nearly zero maintenance once set up, this species is coveted by invertebrate hobbyists of all kinds. It is a common misconception that eucalyptus leaves must be provided to breed this species; this is outright false and the usage of the incorrect eucalyptus species or source has killed many unfortunate rhinoceros roaches. Many kinds of easily found hardwood leaves are fine for this species; I provide a mix of oaks and this is consumed readily.
