Recent experience with this amazing feeder suggests that it prefers a much drier substrate than previously assumed. This species responds well to constant removal for feeding purposes, and females will often give birth soon after some of the colony has been fed off. This species is a very good climber, and a tight lid and slick barrier are key to keeping them contained. Escaped individuals will not infest houses and desiccate quickly when out of the protective microclimate of the roach bin.
