Roth’s giant burrowing roach is a gentle giant and one of my go-to species for handling. Males are highly variable in body size, wing length, and color. Some combinations include short, brown wings; long, black wings, and medium-length tan wings. The females typically have chestnut or black wings, and large individuals can be very intimidatingly sized. This species is a slow, steady breeder and enjoys a good portion of fruit in its diet.
