Arenivaga tonkawa is a sand roach species found in Texas and the surrounding areas. Colonies are best maintained in small containers as Arenivaga tend to reproduce best in them. The adult males are not particularly short-lived but the females undoubtedly live longer. The males do not readily fly and the females are calm when handled. Nymphs are see-through and show nice contrast between their pale yellow bodies and their darker gut contents.
