Care for this interesting looking roach is the same as the common glowspot cockroach, though this species does not seem to have its relative’s tendency to shred egg cartons. The adults are beautiful roaches, though the females lack the characteristic glowspots of the males. The young are gorgeous in their own right, with a mosaic of fiery insignias adorning the thoraces of older nymphs. In captivity they will form small subterranean networks occupied by several individuals, and sometimes an adult male will keep watch above the complex. I have yet to determine whether these males are simply lower-ranking individuals pushed out of the colony or whether they may act as helpers to their parents or siblings by standing guard, though I am certain that this is not the end of the interesting behaviors these roaches exhibit.
