This huge species is easy to care for and breed if set up properly; a roomy enclosure with many vertical spaces for molting as well as a moist substrate promote health and vigor in the nymphs. A good supply of dead, dried hardwood leaves is vital to their health. Females live for several years, while males often make it a single year. Adult females will produce a litter averaging thirty nymphs two to three times a year. When it comes to roaches for handling, this species is probably the absolute best.
