11/3/2021: A new roach locality with an aesthetic twist

Considering many hobby mainstay species have been propagated from untraceable sources for several decades, people have not been very interested in locality information until the last few years where it has become increasingly important to hobbyists. It’s a delight to get some OG species with locality info attached!

A customer (who I may name in the future if he’s alright with it!) inquired about swapping some locality roaches a few months ago and I’ve since acquired a few nifty things from him. Among them, some Eublaberus posticus from a strain presumably unrelated to hobby stock!

These posticus are very similar to the hobby stock at a glance, but looking a little closer the overall coloration is a bit darker and a substantial number of adults have a unique pronotum pattern from hobby posticus, looking a lot like a masquerade mask wearing gentleman with a fancy mustache.

These have been propagated for many years and original come from Limon Province in Costa Rica. Unnamed customer, if you’re reading this, thank you for getting this and other stock to me!
