6/30/2023: A pack of premium peepers
Summer is here and it’s tempting to start a billion new projects with all the bugs and flora out and about. A bit out of the bug bounds, I’ve had a few bird hatches to nurture in preparation for my future of farming things other than roaches.
Samson had been saving eggs from his pure golden Manchurian Coturnix quail, which I have been told differ from the mixed golden stock by having very consistent and dimorphic males. I’m interested to experience their profundity and fast growth myself as they seem a viable option for efficient homesteading birds. The babies are very cute to boot, but out of my group of four an individual I presume to be male has been very vocal which has been a bit obnoxious when it decides to make noise in the middle of the night. Maybe the adult’s calls will be more pleasant on my ears..
