9/27/2021: Into the future with a new computer; video content and more

I’m very pleased to announce that after the sudden and tragic loss of my beloved three and a half year old laptop I’ve finally acquired a new one! The specs are way better (though I had no complaints about my old rig) and it should hopefully get me through another 3-4 years.

With that, I have begun answering e-mails again and have some more exciting news.

For almost a decade now I’ve flirted with doing regular video content on my… ancient and dust-covered Youtube channel. This October I hope to break that drought with some very accessible content in the form of regular livestreams. Once I have a schedule figured out it’ll be posted on the Home page here somewhere. My goal is to do 1-2 hour open segments, wherein I work on the site or e-mails and answer questions/partake in discussions brought up by attendees. I feel this will allow for some quality direct engagement as well as cement the regular e-mail schedule I began last fall which was received very favorably.

After the work ball is rolling smoothly, I’ll start looking into some actual videos on husbandry, species profiles, field collecting, and other miscellaneous topics.

I’m proud to finally make a commitment to this sort of content and appreciate any tips and general patience while I work on this thrilling new chapter in Roach Crossing history!
