This is one of my absolute favorite species. Although they look like bigger lobster roaches, they are more closely related to the genus Rhyparobia. The females give live birth to 5-25 babies somewhat often, and colonies tend to equilibrate well when frequently fed out of. When handled roughly, the adults will squeak loudly and repeatedly. The nymphs have a beautiful rainbow iridescence that pictures cannot capture.
