Detailed Species Stats -Click-
This species is very similar to Porcellio bolivari and was once considered a subspecies of it. The care and behavior are very similar, though nicklesi seems to like slightly drier conditions. It’s often surprising how dry the spots individuals will hole up in, even with plenty of different humidity hiding places. The coloration is reminiscent of the vivid orange mutations in other isopods, although it is notably softer and more translucent. Adult size can be tinkered with similar to bolivari, where cultures kept cooler and with more space per individual will produce very large individuals and more crowded cultures at higher temps will be smaller and lighter.
