Another migrant from Europe, the nosy roly-poly is often found in gardens and greenhouses. It is distinguished from the common roly-poly by a tiny projection between its eyes (for those with a good imagination, a “nose”). It does not grow as large as the common roly-poly but due to its lighter colors pattern and color varieties are more prominent. This is a wild-type coloration strain, however most wild locales of this species in the United States have a high frequency of the simple recessive orange gene, so those may pop up in this culture occasionally.
