Unlike the “Mardi Gras Dalmatian”, “Stardust Dalmatian” has small flecks of yellow playfully scattered across the body resembling bits of stardust. This has been one of the most productive and adaptable Oniscus asellus lines at Roach Crossing. According to Connor, the original stock consisted of a female dalmatian collected in Bethel, Connecticut crossed with wild type males from that location as well as Brewster, New York. Connor’s goal was to produce a strictly dalmatian isopod without any gold coloration, though this line has not yet been developed.
